Moon Musings: How the Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn (July 16, 2019) Will Affect Your Zodiac Sign

Posted by Valerie Mesa on

This is the beginning of a brand new era, and despite the fact that eclipses are catalysts for change, there’s something eerily potent about this eclipse season, and we all know there’s no coming back from it. Can you feel that? The new moon solar eclipse in Cancer on July 2 encouraged us to look deep within ourselves, in order to reset our inner world and heal past karma. Remember, the new moon phase brings new beginnings, and a total solar eclipse is equivalent to at least three new moons combined. The rumbling of change is totally consuming. Could it be Pluto’s wrath, as he sits alongside Saturn and the South Node, purging past traumas and toxic patriarchal systems? Or is the North Node in Cancer, pulling us back into the womb of our mother’s mother’s mother? The only way out is through, but that’s just part one of this heavenly challenge. This cardinal water sign is a symbol of our needs, emotional foundation, and sense of nurture. Ruled by the matriarchal moon, Cancer is the divine mother of the zodiac, just as Saturn-ruled Capricorn is the father.

A cathartic full moon partial lunar eclipse will illuminate the night sky on July 16 in the sign of the mystical goat, but the grand finale of the Cancer-Capricorn eclipse series will take place in January 2020, so there’s still more to this story. In the meantime, however, think back to the new moon solar eclipse in Capricorn that occured on January 5. How have you taken full responsibility for yourself since? When Mother moon beams at her fullest potential, our emotions become heightened, but more importantly, the full moon phase is a symbol of completion. So you can already imagine the effects of the full moon lunar eclipse. Sitting conjunct Pluto Rx, alongside Saturn Rx and the South Node, this lunar eclipse is equivalent to an emotional purge from the heavens. Pluto is the Lord of the Underworld, and its duty is to uncover that which is hidden beneath the surface. So themes related to ancestral traumas, past wounds, and taboo-like emotions hidden, deep within our psyche, could very well resurface during this time.

Are you ready to turn the page once and for all? Have no fear. It’s time to release that which no longer aligns with your higher truth. When the moon is full, it sits directly opposite the sun, and aside from being a call for balance, this is a representation of the divine feminine and masculine energies within us. Capricorn is a symbol of authority, foundation, government, hierarchies, and structure. So now that we’ve hit the reset button on our emotional world, during the new moon solar eclipse in Cancer, how can we move forward and integrate it with our current reality? There’s no doubt this lunar eclipse is powerful, but more importantly, it is a cosmic push towards our self-mastery. What do your long-term goals look like? Are you emotionally fulfilled? Change is here, and Capricorn knows no mercy. Granted, no one said pushing through previously-set structures, and social conditioning was going to be easy, but rest assured, the universe has your back. It’s time to take action, and let your emotional truth speak for itself.

Despite the rest of the aspects one should consider during this lunation, the sun and North Node in Cancer have the upperhand. So don’t be afraid to submit to your deepest truth, and hold yourself accountable, too. There is power in emotional vulnerability, as the divine feminine is already speaking through you. You are not the traditions, structures, and foundations that were instilled in you as a child. You are an infinite being with a colorful expression, and endless feels. Let your emotions be your guide, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Your feelings are there for a reason, and it’s time for you to start listening to them.

Aries

It’s time for you to take your power back, Aries. The full moon lunar eclipse is activating your ambitious tenth house of career, prestige, and reputation in the world. Now, given that this area of your chart belongs to Saturn-ruled Capricorn, it, too, has everything to do with authority figures, along with your most prominent parent. What does this mean? Well, lunar eclipses are for letting go, so some of you might decide to make a much-needed career move once and for all, and in turn release the previously-set structure and/or belief of your mission in this lifetime. If this eclipse doesn’t affect you professionally, than this could also bring closure in regard to a prominent parent, or business superior. Reflect on the following, Aries: What do your long-term goals look like? What kind of legacy do you want to leave in the world?

Taurus

Explore the unknown, Taurus. The full moon lunar eclipse is igniting your expansive ninth house of philosophy, travel, education, long-distance journeys, and mental horizons. This area of your chart has everything to do with the “bigger picture” of your life, and your panoramic view of people, places, and things. So aside from possibly venturing into a completely different territory, some of you might even come across an adventure of a lifetime. However, given that lunar eclipses bring powerful endings, the cosmos might also challenge you to take a life-changing journey, whether you’ve been expecting it or not. Remember, eclipses are powerful lunations, and conjunct powerful Pluto, there’s no escaping what’s about to come. Reflect on the following, Taurus: What is your definition of freedom? Have you considered something outside your immediate community?

Gemini

Ready to play detective, Gemini? Aside from being a fickle air sign, you’re also a brilliant intellectual, but it’s important that you listen to your intuition, too. Don’t take this the wrong way, your duality is your power, but some interesting pieces of information will likely be coming to the surface during this time, and you’ll have no choice but to get to the bottom of things. What can I say? Eclipses bring powerful endings, and with this particular eclipse even more so, as it will ignite your eighth house of sex, transformation, and power. Also, with smoldering Pluto conjunct la luna, there’s no doubt you’re about to see someone’s true colors firsthand. Stop lying to yourself, and face your demons. Reflect on the following, Gemini: What are you willing to let go of in order to make your life easier? Are you involved in any toxic entanglements that could be detrimental to your spirit?

Cancer

A new world awaits, Cancer. The solar eclipse in your sign was simply part of the equation, so hang in there. Besides, eclipses are especially potent for you as you are ruled by the moon, and this particular lunar eclipse will shake up your seventh house of partnerships, marriage, relationships, and open enemies. Breathe. You know the drill. Eclipses bring powerful change, but with la luna conjunct powerful Pluto, there’s no doubt the universe will be giving you and your current relationships one last test run! Are you happy with the way things are going? Also, don’t be afraid to make the first move! The North Node is in your sign, and it’s your turn to have the last laugh. Reflect on the following, Cancer: Who are you in your current relationships? Are you ready to let go, or make things official?

Leo

What are you anxious about, Leo? Some of you are either overworking yourselves, or not working hard enough, and what can I say? Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node do not play, so it’s all starting to show. The full moon lunar eclipse is activating your orderly sixth house of health, day-to-day routine, work environment, and due diligence. Full moons bring culminations, but lunar eclipses spark life-changing events. So whether it be your harsh day-to-day grind, your non-existent exercise routine, or your lack of responsibility altogether, something’s gotta give. Make sure to tend to your well being, and the universe will handle the rest. Reflect on the following, Leo: What types of habits are no longer serving you? Is your current work environment upgrading you vibrationally, or sucking the life out of you?

Virgo

Your passion speaks for itself, Virgo. The full moon lunar eclipse will ignite your expressive fifth house of creation, fertility, joy, romance, and individual expression. This area of your chart, interestingly enough, belongs to Leo. It’s the house of artistic inspiration, theatrics galore, and Leo’s personal favorite, D-R-A-M-A… but I digress. Lunar eclipses bring powerful endings, and in this area of your chart, this could be anything from a passion project to a steamy love affair, but we’ll get to that in just a moment. Conjunct powerful Pluto, this eclipse could also be karmic for some Virgos, and if you’ve been trying to conceive, a pregnancy is very likely during the second-half of 2019. On another note, however, if you’ve been in putting the work for an artistic venture, you could also be receiving the recognition you deserve during this time. Reflect on the following, Virgo: What’s stopping you from slaying the spotlight? Have you been expressing yourself wholeheartedly?

Libra

Is home really where your heart is, Libra? I hate to sound grim, but lunar eclipses bring powerful endings, as they are catalysts for change. And with la luna shaking up your matriarchal fourth house of home, family, intuition, and emotional foundation, you have no choice but to look inward. This is precisely why I asked you if home is where your heart is, Libra. Conjunct shadowy Pluto, this lunar eclipse could bring some unexpected family skeletons to the surface that need to be addressed. Not sure what I’m referring to? Think back to the new moon solar eclipse in Capricorn on January 5. What’s changed since? Some of you are relocating entirely, while the rest of you are in the midst of tending to your family karma. Chin up. This, too, shall pass. Reflect on the following, Libra: Are there boundaries that need to be set between you and your relatives? Are you happy with your current living space?

Scorpio

Don’t decline that phone call, Scorpio. This full moon lunar eclipse is activating your local third house of communication, technology, thought process, cognitive functioning, and immediate environment, so never underestimate the power of your words. Instead, think back to the new moon solar eclipse in Capricorn on January 5. Things you’ve been working on within your local community, via social media, or perhaps even self publishing, are finally starting to manifest. The universe is no longer allowing you to have a negative mindset, despite the previously-set structures of your upbringing. Oh, Scorpio. I know so many of you who grew up in a toxic environment, where you had no choice but to stay strong, and raise yourself. But those days are over. You are seen, you are heard, and you are needed. It’s time. Reflect on the following, Scorpio: If you had a chance to get your message across, what would it say? What truths have you learned about your immediate circle?

Sagittarius

What’s your budget like these days, Sagittarius? The full moon lunar eclipse is activating your comfort-seeking second house of values, income, finances, pleasure, security, and sense of self worth. This area of your chart actually belongs to Taurus, as it is ruled by Venus planet of love and beauty, but I digress. This eclipse will conjunct powerful Pluto, planet of death and transformation, so there’s no doubt it will feel incredibly potent. Although, I have to ask whether or not you’ve noticed a change in your finances as of late? For some of you, these could stem from excess spending, while the rest of you might have no choice but to take a closer look at the people, places, and things, you’ve been investing in. Pluto sees all, as he is the Lord of the Underworld, so if something in your life is not measuring up to your worth, rest assured, you’re about to find out for yourself. Reflect on the following, Sagittarius: How have you evolved in regard to your finances and sense of self-worth? Are you getting as much as you’ve been giving?

Capricorn

Ready or not...here you come, Capricorn! This extra potent lunar eclipse has your name on it, and guess what? It’s time for you to step into your power, fearlessly and unapologetically. Nothing more and nothing less. Having an aha moment would be an understatement, considering the ultra dose of inspiration you will be feeling during this time. BTW, whatever you started working on this past January could suddenly see fruition, so it’s time to put your adulting pants on! Your planetary ruler Saturn is sitting alongside Pluto, and they’re both retrograde, which will only intensify your need for something entirely new in your life. But there’s a catch, Capricorn. What are you willing to let go of in order to make that happen? Fasten your seat belts, because it’s about to be a revolution. Reflect on the following, Capricorn: Are you ready to be the leader you’re destined to be? Are you and your partner’s needs being met?

Aquarius

Just keep swimming, Aquarius. Granted, I know these eclipses haven’t been the easiest for you, but the same way the truth isn’t always pretty, change isn’t always the easiest to endure. Lunar eclipses bring powerful endings, and in your secretive 12th house of endings and beginnings, this could very well feel like an emotional rollercoaster. Hang in there, stellar water bearer. Confronting your emotions is part of the process, but one thing you could do in the meantime is, rest and recharge. Seriously, though, when was the last time you got some rest? Pay attention to the downloads you receive during this time. Whether you’re having epiphanies via your dreams, or suddenly experiencing a spiritual awakening of sorts, make sure to listen to the universe as it is communicating with you, and through you. Reflect on the following, Aquarius: Are you ready to forgive yourself and those who have wronged you? What kind of emotional sacrifices have you been making as of late?

Pisces

You are who you surround yourself with, Pisces. You’ve outgrown some of your friendships, and you’re finally ready to upgrade your network, too. Good for you. The lunar eclipse will ignite your philanthropic 11th house of groups, teams, social networks, and associations. Lunar eclipses bring powerful endings, and for some of you, this could even be the ending of your two weeks notice! The only way to go is up, Pisces. Conjunct shadowy Pluto, this potent lunation could also unveil some skeletons lurking within your crew of friends, or perhaps shed light on something toxic within your extended network. Needless to say, it’s time for you to walk away from that which no longer aligns with your long-term goals, and life mission. Reflect on the following, Pisces: Are you ready to be the unique and audacious individual you truly are? Are you willing to surround yourself with like-minded individuals who genuinely inspire you?
