The energy forecast for this Full Moon will bring forth many of the aspects of the water sign, Cancer. A sign of the home, of domesticity, of emotions and what we need at our foundation, this will be a highly energized Full Moon because the Moon naturally thrives in Cancer and it’s power will be stronger because of this. After a rather intense 2017, especially with the chaos of a particularly wild Mercury Retrograde last month, we will be drawn to focus on our emotions, what we feel we need in our lives, and what we need at our core for the coming year. However, this Full Moon is directly opposed to the planet of love and beauty, Venus, and this conflict will bring to attention how we are relating to others: friends, family, and partners. This will also make many people feel extremely needy and make some people feel lonely and settle for less simply to fulfill a basic need (example: “I want attention NOW.” “I need affection NOW.” “I want someone to love me NOW.”). It is best to not just jump impulsively into a relationship, a “date,” a “hook-up,” or intimate connection simply because it fits an immediate need – that is how people get hurt and this will be highlighted by Venus’s conflict with the Full Moon.
