Winter is coming to a close, and as the equinox approaches, we find ourselves standing at the threshold of a new season, let alone a brand-new era. It’s no secret that the air feels different, as something from within us is quietly preparing to change, too.
As for eclipse season? Eclipses always arrive as turning points, but this one feels especially fated. We began this new chapter and eclipse story with a powerful annular solar eclipse on Feb. 17, ushering in the Year of the Horse at full speed. (Btw, for those who aren’t aware, a solar eclipse takes place during a new moon, when the sun is temporarily obscured, while a lunar eclipse occurs during the full moon, when the Earth stands between the sun and moon.) Eclipses always come in pairs. Lunar eclipses close chapters and bring powerful endings and expose what’s hidden, while solar eclipses open doors to brand-new energies and dimensions. Both are known to bring life-altering changes.
On March 3 at exactly 6:38 AM ET, we will experience the second eclipse of this series: a full moon total lunar eclipse in Virgo via 12 degrees of this mutable earth sign. This is a closing-out energy, and a powerful culmination of sorts. Wherever Virgo lives in your birth chart is where you are being asked to refine, improve, and ultimately release what no longer aligns with the powerful new beginnings set into motion earlier this year — particularly those connected to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries, which is reshaping reality itself. Virgo governs improvement, organization, efficiency, and the sacred art of tending to the details of daily life. It rules the synergy between mind and body, our routines, our work, our habits, and even the complexity of one’s brain-gut health.

Under this eclipse, our awareness heightens. Living habits, eating patterns, stress levels, anxiety, guilt, worry — nothing slips past the light of this lunation. If something isn’t sustainable, it will be revealed, but before these major upgrades arrive, there may be endings or a quiet sense of loss around what no longer fits your evolving lifestyle. This eclipse will also sit close to the South Node in Virgo, amplifying themes of completion. After all, the South Node of Destiny speaks of what has run its course. And when paired with a lunar eclipse, it often signals that changes are not optional — they are necessary.
Virgo wants solutions. It asks, How do I fix this? What practical shifts need to be made? But here’s the paradox: while Luna highlights the need to organize and sort, a powerful stellium of planets sits across the sky in Pisces, including Mercury retrograde — the ruler of this eclipse — alongside the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries. Mercury is not particularly comfortable in Pisces, as the messenger planet is in detriment, per traditional astrology. Details are blurry and answers feel out of reach. You may sense that something is ending, but not fully understand what the next step looks like. Believe it or not, that uncertainty is part of the magic. Pisces asks for surrender and for trust in what cannot yet be seen. Virgo, on the other hand, urges grounding, nourishment, and tending to the body.
While you may feel mentally overloaded, considering Virgo’s strength is analysis, having the Moon here makes this deeply personal. Stress could be easier to detect as fatigue surfaces, especially with Mars also moving through Pisces, draining our energy and physical reserves. You might crave more rest but also struggle to slow down because of that persistent Virgo to-do list. The tension between flowing and fixing, and between resting and refining, is real!
With the sun conjunct the North Node of Destiny, there are signals of fated developments emerging, even if Virgo demands proof before fully trusting them. So if you feel as though you’re moving through a fog, you’re not alone. This eclipse could feel like you’re walking forward without a map. Focus on what is tangible and simplify what overwhelms you. Reevaluate the routines and patterns that no longer support your well-being.
As winter fades and the equinox ushers in renewal, this lunar eclipse asks you to release what weighs you down so you can move into spring lighter and in harmony with the life you are consciously creating.

Aries
Slow down — your body is speaking. This lunar eclipse lights up your sixth house of daily rituals, work and well-being, asking you to get honest about the way you move through your days. You’ve been running on adrenaline, juggling responsibilities, pushing through fatigue like it’s a personality trait. But something in your routine is no longer sustainable. Consider choosing devotion over burnout. Clean up your schedule, nourish your nervous system and release the guilt around rest. Lunar eclipse reflection: Where am I overextending myself just to prove I can? What daily habit needs to end so I can feel supported instead of depleted?
Taurus
Romanticize your standards, Taurus. This eclipse activates your fifth house of pleasure, creativity and love, but you’re being called to refine what (and who) you give your heart to. Maybe you’ve been settling for breadcrumbs in romance, or postponing your creative gifts for “later.” Virgo wants quality and discernment — an ending around a flirtation, passion project or self-expression could clarify what truly lights you up. You are allowed to be selective. Lunar eclipse reflection: Am I entertaining something that doesn’t truly inspire me? What would choosing higher standards in love or creativity look like?
Gemini
Tend to your sanctuary and inner world, Gemini. This lunar eclipse moves through your fourth house of home, roots and emotional foundations. There may be a closing chapter around living arrangements, family dynamics or the way you define safety. Luna is asking you to get organized in your personal life: declutter your living space and do the inner work. Release perfectionism tied to family expectations. Lunar eclipse reflection: What emotional pattern from my past am I ready to release? Does my home environment reflect the peace I crave?
Cancer
Speak the truth you’ve been rehearsing in your head, Cancer. The upcoming lunar eclipse illuminates your third house of communication and mindset. Perhaps you’ve been overthinking, analyzing every word before it leaves your lips – a conversation could reach a turning point. You are refining how you express yourself. A sibling dynamic, contract or local situation could shift. Let go of the need to be perfectly articulate. Your strength here is vulnerability. Say what needs to be said. Lunar eclipse reflection: Where am I silencing myself out of fear of being misunderstood? What narrative is no longer relevant?
Leo
Know your worth plus tax, Leo. This lunar eclipse highlights your second house of money, values and self-esteem. A financial situation or earning dynamic could reach completion. But more importantly, you’re confronting what you truly believe you deserve. Virgo asks you to audit your resources with honesty and integrity. Are you undercharging? Overspending to cope? This is about redefining your relationship with security. Release what drains your confidence. Lunar eclipse reflection: Where am I compromising my value for comfort? What practical shift would make me feel more secure and empowered?
Virgo
Release the version of you that you’ve outgrown, Virgo. This is your eclipse — a full moon in your territory (and first house of identity). You are shedding your snake skin. The person you were six months ago is not the person standing here now. Something personal culminates. An image, a role, a self-imposed standard is dissolving. You could feel exposed, emotional or hyper-aware of your flaws, but your power lies in embracing imperfection. Become who you’ve always been. Lunar eclipse reflection: What identity am I holding onto that no longer fits? How can I release my expectations of myself?
Libra
Give yourself permission to rest without earning it, Libra. This lunar eclipse falls in your 12th house of closure, healing and the unseen. Something quiet is ending beneath the surface. Old anxieties, secret attachments, subconscious patterns — they’re bubbling up to the surface to be released. Virgo asks you to tend to your mental and spiritual hygiene. If you feel tired, introspective or withdrawn, honor it. Trust that endings happening behind the scenes are preparing you for a brighter beginning. Lunar eclipse reflection: What hidden fear am I finally ready to let go of? How can I create more space for solitude and restoration?
Scorpio
Curate your circle as your future depends on it, Scorpio. This eclipse activates your 11th house of friendships, networks and long-term goals. A social scene may shift as you could outgrow a community, collaboration or shared vision. After all, not everyone can come with you on this new journey. Notice where you’ve been overgiving or overanalyzing your place in a group. Let go of connections that feel obligatory, and choose those that feel reciprocal and inspiring. Lunar eclipse reflection: Which friendships energize me, and which quietly drain me? Is my current community aligned with my bigger visions?
Sagittarius
Redefine success on your own terms, Sagittarius. March’s total lunar eclipse lights up your 10th house of career and publicity. A professional chapter may culminate in a moment that urges you to reconsider your ambitions. Are you chasing achievement to impress, or to feel fulfilled? Release outdated goals. You don’t have to do more, only what matters. Lunar eclipse reflection: What perception of success have I outgrown? Where can I commit to my goals to feel more aligned?
Capricorn
Expand your worldview, even if it feels uncomfortable, Capricorn. The eclipse moves through your ninth house of beliefs, education and expansion. You may question a philosophy, a mentor, or a long-held truth as your perspective changes. Travel plans, academic pursuits or spiritual paths could shift unexpectedly. Let yourself be a student again, and release the need to be certain. Lunar eclipse reflection: What belief system no longer resonates with my lived experience? Where am I being encouraged to think differently?
Aquarius
Confront what you’ve been avoiding, Aquarius. This lunar eclipse activates your eighth house of intimacy, shared resources and emotional entanglements. Financial ties or vulnerable relationships may reach a turning point, as Luna asks you to get practical about what you share — money, energy, secrets. After all, you cannot transform what you refuse to acknowledge. Let go of dynamics built on imbalance. Besides, depth is sacred when it’s mutual. Lunar eclipse reflection: Where am I overgiving in my intimate unions? What shared responsibility needs to be restructured?
Pisces
Raise your standards in love and relationships, Pisces. This eclipse lands in your seventh house of relationships — a connection may evolve or come to a close. Here, Luna asks you for discernment. Have you been idealizing someone? Overlooking the red flags? Or perhaps overanalyzing a bond that is simply asking for grounded commitment? Consider the way you’re showing up in relationships. Choose clarity, reciprocity and above all, yourself. Lunar eclipse reflection: Does this relationship support my growth? What would a balanced partnership truly look like for me?
