Moon Musings: How the Full Moon in Aries (October 13, 2019) Will Affect Your Zodiac Sign

Posted by Valerie Mesa on

Full moons are revealing, climatic and emotionally-liberating, and this is especially true with the moon traveling through a powerhouse cardinal fire sign like Aries. However, before we discuss the essence of this Mars-ruled lunation, let’s backtrack for a moment and take a closer look at October’s astro weather. First thing’s first: There’s a powerful cluster of heavenly bodies (Saturn, Pluto, South Node) hovering over serious Capricorn — a symbol of the patriarchy, traditions, hierarchies, structures and foundations — which sadly puts quite a damper on the charming season of the scales. Why is this happening? Remember, when two zodiac signs of the same modality (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable) are 90 degrees apart in the sky, they form what is referred to as a “square.” Needless to say, this astrological aspect creates a type of friction that feels as though you’re being pulled from two completely different directions. Think about it: If two similar people with a similar brand or interest come face-to-face, what do you think happens after a while? Squares can feel like a competition or a battle of the egos so to speak but in the end, this celestial tug-of-war is what pushes you to take action, despite how uncomfortable and/or challenging. FYI: Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are Cardinal signs.

With that being said, it’s kind of hard to soak up the magical essence of diplomatic Libra when Saturn, Pluto and the South Node are sitting together in pragmatic Capricorn. Put it this way: Libra is looking for an aesthetically-pleasing atmosphere, balance, companionship, harmony and compromise. This Capricorn stellium, on the other hand, is in the process of dissolving all previously-set structures and traditions, which is basically the complete opposite of harmonious. See where I’m going with this? As you know, when la luna reaches her peak of fullness, she fearlessly sits directly opposite the sun, which in turn symbolizes the divine feminine and masculine energies  (yin and yang) coming face-to-face to enkindle harmony between both our emotional and physical reality. And with the sun and moon on complete opposite sides of the zodiac wheel, we, both personally and collectively, are being asked to find a balance between our inner and outer world. Libra season already has everything to do with balance, which makes the full moon on Oct. 13 that much more interesting. Nevertheless, with the sun in harmony-seeking Libra and the moon in hot-headed Aries, we’re being asked to create a balance between our autonomy vs. our one-on-one relationships. Are you being completely authentic with yourself, and the people in your life?

It gets better. Both the sun and the moon will form an exact T-Square — both 90 degrees away — with powerful Pluto at 20 degrees, just days after Pluto stationed direct which makes this aspect that much more potent. FYI: Pluto is the Lord of the Underworld; it governs the hidden unconscious, and destroys everything it touches. Now, when I say destroy, I don’t want you to take that lightly, but I also don’t want you to take it negatively. In the end, Pluto is a symbol of our hidden power; therefore, this energy can be just as empowering as it is cathartic. With that said, this Mar-ruled lunation will illuminate your inner warrior, and the sun will bring this fearless leader to life, both in your personal life and in your relationships. With shady Pluto in the mix, however, the full moon could also bring revealing truths to the light, especially those buried deep within your subconscious. For instance, have you ever  thought about the way you come across to others? Whether you realize it or not, the emotions people trigger within you are a reflection of your inner world. Everyone is a mirror which is why it’s so important to be mindful of the energy you’re projecting.

However, if you tap into your inner warrior and fearlessly embrace the taboo that exists within you, this lunation could really set you free. So much so, both the sun and the moon will also form a harmonious trine to optimistic Jupiter — planet of faith, expansion and possibility — which will, in turn, bring abundance and blessings. Mars, Aries’ planetary ruler, will also oppose Chiron, the wounded healer; this will awaken the divine warrior within you, in order to help you express anger without inflicting pain on someone through your own projection. Gorgeous Venus will also oppose electric Uranus, and this could spark either a creativity that’s out of this world or chaos within your relationships. Choose your battles wisely. A beautiful sextile between Mercury the messenger and dreamy Neptune will not only heighten your intuition, it will also make it easier to express the universal compassion that already exists within you. See? There’s always a silver lining. I am wishing you a magical full moon; listen to your heart.

Aries

Put your guard down, Aries. You only get one full moon a year, so you better make the most of it. Also, being a warrior doesn’t always mean you have to go to war, you know.  Granted, a full moon illuminating the sky in your honor naturally evokes the fiery passions within, but this full moon goes a lot deeper than that. For starters, this Mars-ruled lunation is here to help you heal, and set your spirit free. Sounds cheesy but it’s true; either way, this will certainly take some work, as there will be a battle of wills taking place in the sky on the day of the full moon. Whether it be with one of your higher ups in the workplace, a co-worker, or perhaps even a parental figure, this lunation will challenge your sense of authority, Aries. However, it’s up to you to learn how to stand up for yourself, without completely losing yourself in the process. Pay attention to the intuitive downloads that come up for you during this time. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: What have you been fighting for this entire time? Is it really worth your blood, sweat and tears?

Taurus

Make room for your spirit to wander and grow, Taurus. There will be a lot going on in the sky during this full moon, but there’s an underlying theme here for you and it has everything to do with your spiritual freedom. Aside from the fact that this Mars-ruled lunation will be activating your 12th house of closure, forgiveness and rest, it will also be activated by a powerful T-square with the moon via your sixth house of health and due diligence, and your ninth house of faith and opportunity. Now, I get the feeling that you’re ready to let go of something in your day-to-day life, as it is starting to affect your spiritual well being. Besides, with non-committal Uranus revolutionizing your sign, the last thing you’re looking for these days is a routine. Think twice about the people you surround yourself with, Taurus. Also, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: Are you still soul searching? Did you find what you were looking for?

Gemini

There’s no such thing as another you, Gemini. Trust me, I know how much you loathe discussing anything that revolves around your emotional world, but Lord knows you’ve learned a thing or two about shedding skin these past two years. Nevertheless, this Mars-ruled lunation will activate your humanitarian-like 11th house of like-minded groups, friendship circles and extended network. However, it will be activated by a challenging T-square via your expressive fifth house of ego and eighth house of surrender. Sounds complicated, I know, but this is will likely have something to do with your general sense of belonging vs. your ego’s need for recognition. Beware of jealousy trips, power struggles and straight up greed, Gemini. None of it will be necessary, especially where you’re going. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: Have you expanded your social circles since? How are you sharing your unique gifts with the world?

Cancer

There’s plenty of room at the top, Cancer. Although, I’m pretty sure you’ve outgrown your insatiable stagefright by now, considering you’ve been given no choice but to level up this past year… in more ways than one, too! Imagine, this Mars-ruled lunation will beam directly through your ambitious tenth house of career, legacy and reputation in the world, which means it’s going to be all eyes on you. Although, beyond that, you will also be experiencing a powerful breakthrough in your professional life, perhaps with something you’ve been working really hard on for a couple of months now. However, your sensitive ruling planet will be making a T-square with the sun via your domestic fourth house of home, and Pluto in the area of your partnerships. You can’t do it all, Cancer. I mean, Lord knows you’re already Susie homemaker, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be a boss babe, too, right? Be mindful of your work vs. home life during this time, especially if you’ve been giving your S.O. a hard time as of late. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: How have you evolved personally and professionally? What do you want your legacy to be about?

Leo

Having trouble meeting your deadlines these days, Leo? I know Leos just wanna have fun, but you gotta do what you gotta do, you know. Then again, with la luna shaking up your expansive ninth house of travel, opportunity and adventure, something tells me you’ll be feeling more restless than usual during this time. Here’s where it gets tricky, Leo: The moon will form a challenging T-square with your ruling planet (the sun) via your third house of communication, and Pluto via your sixth house of due diligence. What does this mean, exactly? Well, for starters, work now and play later, Leo babe. Second, despite your insatiable wanderlust, there are several things you need to get done before you can run away for the weekend. Moreover, this Mars-ruled lunation is here to remind you of your soul’s truth, and spiritual philosophy. Who knows, maybe your inner compass is leading you down an unfamiliar path lately. I know you’re a creature of habit, but things are changing, and for the better! In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: How have you expanded your horizons in the past few months? Are you ready to finally take that risk?

Virgo

Are you getting as much as you’ve been giving, Virgo? Who knows, maybe it’s the other way around; Virgos make mistakes, too, you know. Either way, this Mars-ruled lunation will beam directly through your mysterious eighth house of death, transformation and intimate unions, so there’s really nothing subtle about the energy of this full moon. In fact, the moon will be challenged by the sun via your second house of finances, and Pluto via your expressive fifth house of recognition. As I previously mentioned, dearest Virgo, something’s gotta give. However, given that this lunation will be swirling with intensity, and perhaps even rage, it’s important that you keep an open mind during this time. Really reflect on whether or not you want to continue investing your time and energy in something that doesn’t serve your highest truth. Whether it be a relationship or a collaborative effort, I have a feeling you know what I’m referring to. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: What empowers you? Are you fighting for what you truly deserve?

Libra

Do your relationships empower you, or do they bring you down, Libra? The reason I ask is because the full moon will be activating your committed seventh house of one-on-one relationships, and other people in general. So, there’s really no escaping the confrontation this time, Libra babe. Besides, with your ruling planet Venus shaking up your second house of finances and self-worth, you’re being reminded of your core values, and sense of security during this time. It is what it is, and you’re no longer leaving room for energy vampires, and toxic doppelgangers. This Mars-ruled lunation will also be challenged by Pluto via your domestic fourth house of home, and the sun in your sign, which means your ego will be hella involved. Despite you being quite familiar with the whole me vs. we, there’s still so much more for you to learn. Also, given that your inner world is also in the midst of a massive restructure — thanks to Pluto — you’re in your right to have a change of heart. Bottom line being, the truth isn’t always going to be pretty, Libra. Speak your peace, and move on. You’ll feel a lot better, trust me. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: Are the people in your life mutually supportive of your emotional needs? Are you being  emotionally transparent?

Scorpio

Health is wealth, Scorpio. Admit it: Once you become fixated with something, there’s no turning back. It doesn’t matter whether it’s work-related either; when you’re passionate about something, you give it your all. However, it’s important that you stay mindful of your mental and spiritual health in the process, because too much of anything is never a good thing. This is especially true with la luna shaking up your orderly sixth house of due diligence, and well being. Aside from experiencing clarity —in regard to your work environment and daily habits — during this time, this Mars-ruled lunation will be challenged by Pluto via your communication sector, and the sun via your 12th house of rest, and karma. One thing’s for sure: You’re either over-committing yourself to the point of exhaustion, or you’re being rewarded for something you’ve worked extra hard for, Scorpio. With both the sun and your co-ruler Mars in the area of spiritual debt, you could be greeted with a well-deserved treat, compliments of lady Venus, of course. Although, with la luna in harmony with lucky Jupiter via your money zone, you will be reminded of your sparkling worth, too. Think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: How have you taken ownership of your day-to-day life? Have you created a healthy routine for yourself?

Sagittarius

Shine bright like a diamond, Sagittarius. Besides, you haven’t had a moment like this in a long while. Jupiter will only spend one more month in your sign, which means you better make the most of your last hoorah. Anyhoo, with la luna activating your expressive fifth house of romance, creativity and passion projects, you’ll be feeling as confident as ever. Although, don’t get too excited just yet, Sag. This Mars-ruled lunation will form a challenging T-Square with Pluto via your second house of finances and self-worth, and the sun via your 11th house of friendships; is your personality too much for some people? Who knows, maybe you’re selling yourself short out of pure selflessness. I know how much of a fighter you can be, but I also know how evolved you are in terms of “the bigger picture.” However, make sure you pay attention to your intuition during this time. Both Mercury and Venus will be shaking up your mystical 12th house of universal love, which means your intuitive downloads will be on fleek during this time. Again, make sure you own up to your self-worth, Sag. Think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: How have you celebrated your authenticity? Are you basking in the recognition you deserve?

Capricorn

Don’t be afraid to go inward, Capricorn. You’re typically known for being the pragmatic type but it’s safe to say, you’ve been through quite the metamorphosis this past year or two. Plus, with la luna beaming directly through your domestic fourth house of home, family and ancestral lineage, you’ll be given no choice but to feel your feels. Although, it gets deeper. This Mars-ruled lunation will be challenged by the sun via your ambitious tenth house of career, and Pluto via your first house of self. Here’s how I see it, Capricorn: If you’ve been overworking yourself to the point of exhaustion, this full moon will definitely let you know. Who knows, perhaps maintaining a healthy work vs. life balance is key for some of you — as it should be — but it could go much deeper than that. For starters, does your current occupation fulfill you at an emotional level? Does it coincide with the legacy you plan on leaving behind? One thing’s for sure, Capricorn: You’re evolving and Pluto is ruthless. Whatever is no longer serving you — especially in regard to your career — will make itself known up to two weeks after this lunation. Lucky Jupiter will also be involved, so it can’t be that bad. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: Have you integrated your soul’s truth with your professional life? How is your current occupation fulfilling for you?

Aquarius

Calm down, Aquarius. Seriously, you need to make sure you’re cool, calm and collected throughout this lunation. Aside from the fact that the full moon will beam directly through your busy communication sector, your spirit will also be feeling a bit restless during this time. Granted, everything happens for a reason, but don’t want to get carried away, especially not when hot-headed Mars is involved. It gets deeper; la luna will be challenged by Pluto via your secretive 12th house of surrender, and the sun via your expansive ninth house of adventures. So, what does that tell me? Well, for starters, you could be feeling trapped wherever you are; some of you might be making sacrifices out of pure guilt, while the rest of you look for a quiet place to bask in your solitude. However, given that the moon will be shaking up an area of your chart that’s a bit busier than most, you’ll likely be too caught up in your due diligence to realize it. Whatever you do, don’t keep ignoring your personal needs, because they matter just as much as everybody else’s. Luckily, Jupiter will also be involved via your friendship sector — reminding exactly what friends are for — while Venus and your ruling planet Uranus awaken your rebel, especially while in the workplace. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: Have you embarked on the adventure you’ve so desperately been craving? What needs to be communicated in order for you experience total freedom?

Pisces

You’re so money, and you don’t even know it, Pisces. It’s been an interesting year, especially with your co-ruler Jupiter bringing you abundance and blessings via your ambitious tenth house of career, and authority figures. You’ve been given another perspective on your long-term goals and professional endeavors, and you’re finally recognizing your place in the world. To top it off, la luna will beam directly through your second house of income, values and self-worth, bringing themes related to your self-confidence and finances to the light. It doesn’t end there; la luna will be challenged by powerful Pluto via your 11th house of friendships, and the sun via your eighth house of intimate unions. Although, this could also revolve around your happiness, your sense of belonging and your ability to surrender. One thing’s for sure: You are a universe all on your own Pisces, and it’s time you see that for yourself. So whether you’re ready to move on from a crew of friends, or perhaps starting to crave something a little less conventional, this Mars-ruled lunation will let you know. Either way, with universal Neptune swimming in the depths through your sign, things could feel a bit hazy; however, make sure you continue following your instincts. They will never let you down. In the meantime, think back to the new moon in Aries that took place on Apr. 5: Are you being properly compensated for all of your hard work? Is your sex life fulfilling you?
