Moon Musings: How the New Moon in Aries (April 5, 2019) Will Affect Your Zodiac Sign

Posted by Valerie Mesa on

What parts of you washed away during Pisces season? Did you leave it all behind you? The all-encompassing waters of Pisces typically feel like an emotional whirlwind, but we somehow always come across buried treasures while swimming through its dreamy depths. If there’s anything Pisces season taught us is, just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it wasn’t there all along. What did you discover? What did you realize? We are well into Aries season, which means the first new moon of the astrological new year is officially upon us. However, if we take this last Mercury retrograde cycle into account, along with Chiron’s close proximity to the sun, the majority of us were likely reluctant to taking action towards the very beginning of Aries season. Unfortunately, this energetic influence might’ve very well tarnished the red-hot vibration of warrior-like Aries, but not for long, as the new moon in the sign of the ram will ignite the fire that lives within each and every one of us. Are you ready to start again?

Whenever you can, look up at the moon. Aside from being a loyal companion, and a beautiful sight to see, la luna’s changeable personality is equivalent to a sacred time clock, given the ebb and flow of her celestial duty as both a universal mother, and an ever-glowing luminary. Everything is cyclical, and the lullaby-like rhythm of la luna can ultimately bring us closer to our inner world, and innate intuition. Mother moon certainly goes through a number of phases, but in the end, they all have one thing in common: They each represent a cycle of life that already exists within our spiritual DNA, and that in itself is magical beyond words. With that being said, the new moon in Aries will disappear into the velvet night on Friday, April 5, 2019, reawakening our intuition, and reaffirming sense of security. During the new moon phase, la luna appears invisible to us on Earth, as it is sitting between the earth and the sun, and this ultimately serves as a symbol of renewal. Thus, the new moon is a cosmic reset from the heavens.

Have you ever struggled with taking initiative, or following through with a specific goal? If so, the new moon phase is the perfect opportunity for a fresh start. However, given that the moon governs our intuition, it’s important to do what feels right during this time. What I mean by that is, don’t feel pressured to do anything in specific. Granted, it wouldn’t hurt to reflect on your intentions, as they could potentially come to fruition during the full moon in Aries in October 2019, but the darkness that comes along with this lunar phase is essential to the manifestation process. Think of it this way: The phases of the moon are similar to the seed germination process; the new moon being a time of ingestion. This is when the dry seed absorbs the water, similar to the energy of the new moon engulfing our intentions. Make sense? Moreover, Aries is ruled by aggressive Mars, planet of assertion, energy, sex, and physical expression… so how would you incorporate this essence into your new moon intentions? Would it be about your sexuality, or would you use it to ignite your inner fire?

On another note, this lunation won’t be your typical new moon in Aries, as it will be making a square to Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node in Capricorn. Yes, this could definitely create some friction, but don’t be discouraged by what many consider a celestial group of villains. If anything, these malefics are here to help you destroy the barriers holding you back from your highest potential. For instance, where have you struggled taking initiative, or owning up to your power? What’s holding you back from asserting yourself? This lunation could be the beginning of a powerful break through. So, contrary to a fresh start, the upcoming new moon could be the beginning of an ending, in the sense that you are letting go of one thing, in order to obtain the other. Something else, Mercury, Venus, and Neptune will be sitting together in Pisces, reminding us to be gentle and compassionate with ourselves, and each other. Again, this energy could feel somewhat cathartic, but this doesn’t mean it can’t work to our benefit.

On that note, see your new moon in Aries horoscope and mantra below:

Aries

Stand in your power, Aries. This new moon has your name on it, and it’s time for a new beginning. Also, while the tension of Saturn, Pluto and the South Node hovering over your tenth house of career, reputation, and authority figures, seems almost impossible to bear, now is the time to take back your power, but not in the way you think. For instance, where do you lack confidence? What is your definition of success? Owning up to your fears, and expressing your vulnerabilities, does not make you less of a leader. On the contrary, this is what makes you a superhuman. Have compassion for yourself. After all… you are the warrior of the zodiac, right? The universe would never give you more than you can handle, so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. *New Moon Mantra: My authenticity is an ever-burning fire.*

Taurus

Fight until the end, Taurus. This lunation might have you feeling restless, and perhaps somewhat discouraged, but this is a reflection of your soul’s language, as it is asking you to put your guard down, and trust the process. Despite what may seem like a current roadblock, or type of confinement, la luna is here to remind you of your unique persistence, and God-like panorama. This can’t be it, and it never was. It’s time to cross the pond, and while stepping out of your comfort zone can seem like quite a challenge, you’re already a creature of habit, which means you’re ahead of the game. It starts with consistency. Break through your previously-set ways of thinking, and trust the firestorm in your heart. Slow and steady. *New Moon Mantra: The light that glows within will never leave me in the dark.*

Gemini

Leave your mark, Gemini. The eerie shadows of Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node might have you feeling on edge as of late, but this cosmic plethora of energy is simply redefining your core values, and overall sense of self worth. Your new beginning will consist of you taking the initiative to connect with like-minded groups, that share similar hopes and dreams, but you will need to push through the barriers holding you back in the process. La luna is here to remind you of your gift of gab, and irresistible loquaciousness, but it’s important to be mindful of who you’re exchanging energy with in the meantime. Sounds puzzling doesn’t it? Just how you like it, Gemini. *New Moon Mantra: I put my guard down for those who serve my highest good.*

Cancer

The world needs you, Cancer. The new moon will ignite your ambitious tenth house of authority and public reputation, so you might be feeling restless, and perhaps a bit overwhelmed, in your professional life. However, part of your new beginning consists of owning up to your responsibility, and gathering enough courage to take charge. Meanwhile, Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node are hovering over your partnership zone, restructuring your sense of autonomy and individual truth, despite the opinions of those around you. I know that this is nowhere near your comfort zone, but it’s important that you break the habit of needing to please others, in order to obtain self confidence. Your truth matters just as much as everyone else’s. Set yourself free. *New Moon Mantra: I am a leader and I celebrate my soul’s truth.*

Leo

Do something you’ve never done before, Leo. I know it hasn’t been easy with Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node raining on your parade, putting a damper on your daily routine as of late, but these celestial entities are redefining your sense of mindfulness, along with your over-achiever mentality. There’s no such thing as perfect, and part of your new beginning consists of overcoming your obsession with the details, critiques, and constant judgement, whether it be personal, or in your day-to-day environment. When was the last time you took a leap of faith? La luna is here to remind you of your joy, and free spirit. *New Moon Mantra: I honor my freedom and I am mindful of my well being.*

Virgo

Remember who you are, Virgo. With the moon illuminating your eighth house of intimacy and shared resources, part of your new beginning consists of staying true to your inner warrior and coming face-to-face with your fears, despite how intimidating, or emotionally overwhelming. The dread of Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node hovering over the things that bring you most joy can be mentally exhausting, but la luna is here to remind you of your infinite strength, and powers of regeneration. Truth is, these malefic planets are redefining your idea of self love, and it’s important to break through the barriers standing in the way of your happiness. *New Moon Mantra: I am the fire and I will continue to rise from the ashes.*

Libra

Take a stand in your relationships, Libra. Despite the shadows stemming from Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node, in regard to your home, family, and sense of security, this lunation is asking you to take initiative within your current partnerships. Do your one-on-one relationships lack compromise? Is your partner, or peer, emotionally supportive? La luna is here to remind you of your poise and innate diplomacy. You are not the same person you were a few months back, and you’re still shedding layers. Thus, your current relationships are reflecting your lack of assertiveness, and self-confidence. Break free from the preconceived notions, Libra. *New Moon Mantra: My strength is an asset and it brings harmony to my relationships.*

Scorpio

What makes you feel most alive, Scorpio? With la luna shaking up your sixth house of health and daily routine, part of your new beginning consists of taking a new approach in your day-to-day life, whether it be via your current occupation, or physical well being. Lots on your mind these days? With Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node lingering over your third house of communication, there is something you need to release in regard to your current mindset, and general exchanges. I know how much you enjoy keeping things to yourself, but being honest about your workload is a no brainer. Who knows, maybe it’s the other way around, but it’s important that you make logical decisions before penciling it into your schedule. *New Moon Mantra: I am the fire that fuels my mind, body, and soul.*

Sagittarius

Owning your creativity, Sagittarius? WIth the new moon in Aries illuminating your expressive fifth house of romance, creativity, and childlike expression, part of your new beginning consists of owning the spotlight like the superstar that you are. However, with the heaviness of Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node hovering over your area of values and self esteem, you might be second-guessing your worth, and creative muse. More self love, Sag! For some of you, this might be related to your finances, and perhaps your love life, but there’s still something you need to let go of in order to break free. What’s holding you back? Are you aware of the unique gifts the universe gifted you with? Your values are changing, and that’s a beautiful thing. *New Moon Mantra: I am capable of experiencing joy and I will fight for my happiness.*

Capricorn

You’re a true warrior, Capricorn. Truth is, there are no words to describe the weight of Pluto, Saturn, and the South Node sitting over your sign, but there’s a silver lining. The new moon will ignite your domestic fourth house of home, family, and sense of security, and part of your new beginning consists of staying strong, and reflecting on what makes you feel secure in the world. Is there a contradiction between who you portray yourself to be, and who you are at a soul level? Does your sense of self align with your emotional foundation? Something’s gotta give, Capricorn. La luna is here to remind you of your fighting spirit and red-hot passion, which means, you don’t always need to play by the rules... after all, it is Aries season, right? *New Moon Mantra: I embrace my inner warrior and trust my intuition.*

Aquarius

Use your words, Aquarius. With the new moon illuminating your third house of communication, thought process, and immediate community, part of your new beginning consists of taking the initiative to speak your truth, and perhaps tackle the tasks at hand, despite how tedious or mundane. However, with the lingering dread of Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node hovering over your 12th house of dreams and secrets, there’s a sense of selflessness standing in the way of your new mindset. How much is too much? Are you sacrificing more than you should? Be gentle with yourself. La luna is here to help you fight for your peace of mind, and emotional wellbeing, despite how challenging it may seem. Let go and let God, Aquarius. *New Moon Mantra: I acknowledge my fears but my courage speaks for itself.*

Pisces

Make a bold move, Pisces. WIth the new moon shaking up your second house of values, spending habits, and self worth, part of your new beginning consists of courageously fighting for what brings you pleasure, whether it be something emotional or tangible. When was the last time you took a financial risk, or perhaps tested your luck? La luna is here to remind you of the unique possessions bestowed upon you at birth, along with what you cherish most in this lifetime. Although, with Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node hovering over your eleventh house of group circles, and extended network, there’s something you need to release before you move forward. For instance, do your values align with your place in society? Where do you lack confidence? Stop avoiding the spotlight, Pisces. Listen to your heart. *New Moon Mantra: I celebrate the unique light I bring to the world.*
